The country music repository thread

I've considered doing this for a long time but often figured I was the only one that cared. Kyle DeLexus' thread has shown me that's not the case.

If you have an appreciation for country music feel free to use this as a place to post videos, news, personal favorites lists, concert experiences and anything else country related. Old or new doesn't matter. Just have fun with it and ignore the haters.

Naturally I have to post the greatest country song of all time as a starter.

Quite a few years ago in David Ball's hey-day...I was watching him at a show, I think at the state fair on a free stage. I was standing on the side and some dark haired lady came up beside me and started chatting. We talked for a few minutes about this and that and then he called for Teri Clarke to come to the stage and she walked up to sing a duet. Thinkin Problem was his most known song but this the best one imo.

Jason Eady is pretty much awesome. This song explains what is wrong with country music today...which is what chased me to red dirt.

Heh cool story. I met Terri Clark once at a show we had and I was struck by how perfect her skin was... like she'd never had a blemish in her life. Weird thing to remember probably.

Funny enough too... that David Ball song is consistantly a big request to this day.

I must preface this by saying Blake Shelton is one of my least favorite artists there is today. In fact he's a pretty good representation of everything that is wrong with modern country.

That said I like the groove of this new song. Judge me. I deserve it. I'm not proud.

If you're going to beat up on Blake Shelton...do it from when he was a long hair trying to be a pretty boy.

If you're posting a video....at least do one of his good songs.

I don't mind Shelton. He's put some crap out, but some of it is OK.

Austin is OK. God Gave me You is pretty good from his early days. He's tolerable. Guys like Jason Aldean piss me off much more.

Heh. I hesitated to put Ol Red up there. I was afraid I was the only guy that liked it.

If I were "beating up" I wouldn't have picked that song you see.... because it wasn't bad. The last few years has been bad. Then he did a song that I admitted to liking even though its crap. So sue me. Sheeeesh.

A few corny lyrics... sure. But if I were a country recording artist I'd want to do this song.

#1 song of the year in 1996.

Never liked David Ball...he always seemed to be kind of fake country to me. Like he was trying to hard.

But Terri Clark has something about her that's hot....Was she even hotter in person?

She was very pretty and she let me interview her live on the air with no warning... not everyone will do that. She was in a thin faze at the time... she's always fluctuated with weight. She was very sweet and accomodating. Signed a handful of cd's while we were on the air. I have nothing bad to say about her.

I hate that alt country got labeled and is main stream.

Anyway I kinda dig Bob Wayne. Blood to Dust isn't bad.

George Jones is way overrated in country. He is to fm country what the eagles are to fm rock, total shit.
