Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

Broke the rookie record, passed for 4,000 yards his first season, nearly 4,000 his second and has 62TD combined TD's rushing and passing.

Major disappointment.

Be sure to let Claythan know when Geno does something that would make someone change their mind about him. So far all your got is backstage at the draft. Other than that, looked good tonight. Poor playcalling and run blocking killed.

Is he in any danger of leading his team anywhere? No. Mostly b/c he incapable of leading. He's a bitch.

I felt that Geno would have been a great pick for us at 1.1 for what he wouldn't do this season - he could sit behind Alex and Chase to learn an NFL offense with no ridiculous pressure on him. He has the skills, now he just needs someone to help hone them, not to mention ready him for the spotlight of the NFL.

That being said, he is going to be an unmitigated disaster for the Jets. He is going to be thrust into the starter's role sooner rather than later, and he just isn't ready at this point for it, much less the pressure of playing in New York.

He's going to be a classic "What If?" question a few years from now.

With all due respect, this is exactly why he wasn't worthy of 1.1 and probably wasn't worthy of a second round pick.

He has a long way to go before he's even NFL ready and if that day comes, there are no guarantees that he'll be capable of leading a team.

I watched a bunch of his games last year. The kid just looks like a natural throwing the ball. Of course, it WAS against crappy Big XII defenses, and he didn't show well against talented defenses.....

The thought of actually having a QB that looked as though he can throw a decent pass was just way too intriguing to not think about for me, especially given what Reid and Smith could have potentially taught the kid, and also not mentioning all the dogshit we've trotted out at QB since Trent Green left.

Oh well, you're right - you shouldn't have to teach a 1.1 pick how to play his position. Here's hoping Fisher has ten dominating years at tackle for us.

It's all good, Dude. I hope Fisher becomes a dominating tackle as well because the Chiefs need to hit on their first round picks, regardless of position, if they truly want to compete for championships on an annual basis.

As proven by the multiple national championships won by Auburn since he left the program.
