PFT: Chargers will work out Mariota

On my phone, so no link. Suck it.

Will they really trade Rivers? I know there's been speculation.

Discus.

Exactly. He's the worst kind of QB in that he has ALL the TALENT in the world but doesn't win you shit. Then when you finally figure that out, you've wasted a decade.

That Chargers team is a 2 win team w/o Rivers.

Kinda like Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, Dan Fouts, etc...

Imagine if the Chiefs had a QB like Thigpen instead of Smith, (low cost/medium reward)...

They'd of had the money to re-sign Houston before last season, would have had 2 extra mid round picks and probably would still be able to add some other players in FA with the extra cash. The Chiefs would be like the Bucs and Ravens SB teams before them, with a brutalizing defense and just enough pop-gun power on offense to get them by week to week.

A quality QB comes at the cost of the surrounding team. A middling QB will only improve your team if you're not paying an arm and a leg for him.

He's a real Christian who likes his Church, home and community and i don't think he wants to change that, for the sake of his Child Army.
I thought I read tenn is close to where his In-laws live and his home town is 90 min away.

The Titans would be smart to acquire Rivers and a 1st rd pic. Rivers makes the Titans a contender.

I'm in this boat but leaning more toward "I hope they keep him around".

Seeing them trade it all for Mariota to busy would be fantastic but I'd rather not even risk it. They aren't winning anything meaningful with Rivers at the helm.

Nope. You forgot Tarkinton...All are better than him. Are you actually saying that Philip Rivers is one of the top 5 QB's never to win (or in his case even go) a Super Bowl and will be a HOF QB ????

How about Trent Dilfer, Doug Williams, Jeff Hostetler, Brad Johnson?

Also, Eli has TWO rings compared to Payton's ONE so by your logic he must be better than his brother?

If you're trying to say 0 SB wins = worthless KC's record over the last 20 years is -7...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Stop gap QBs are not allowed! At least on this board.

No, I'm saying 0+ 0 = 0 because neither team has a Super Bowl win during that time span. True?

So, the fact that Phillip Rivers hasn't won shit can stand on its own. And if you want to draw comparisons to any other team who hasn't won shit, (Chiefs included) then so be it.

For "ALL" that Phillip Rivers is supposed to be, he sure hasn't got much to show for it because he just doesn't have "IT." Good QB? Absolutely. Great? Not so much for the majority of his career.
