Everything I've read from scouts so far suggests that they like Markieff Morris better because he actually has a defensive position in the NBA (PF), not to mention he also rebounds.

They are virtually the same player with the same skillsets, though, so I don't see them going too far apart in any case.

Despite what KCC thinks, this sounds like Self is liking EJ more and more at the point. And he still says pretty much that it is EJ's job to lose.

Probably as it should be. Taylor seemed to play very well last night coming off the bench. But, in the end, Taylor & Johnson will probably get roughly equal minutes on the court regardless of who is starting.

I think Johnson has shown that he can handle it, and Taylor might want to prove that he can play the kind of ball that Self wants out of him. I'm hoping the change brings out the best in both of them.

TT did play well when he first got in there but then he relaxed and had back-to-back turnovers with a blown defensive assignment stuck in-between. Shortly after that he was pulled and KU finally pulled away from A&M with EJ,Morningstar and Reed in the game.

If it wasn't for the extra quickness TT brings he would barely see the court.

I understand. But, it's not like Taylor was the reason we were shooting 12% or whatever it was. Had we shot even 30% in the first half, we would have been up 10+ going into the break.

Once we started hitting our shots - the second half - we pulled away.

If EJ keeps playing well, he deserves minutes. I just don't expect him to get more than TT when it counts. Self's rather meaningless comments right now won't change that opinion of mine.
