Decision to be made on #1 four days before draft

According to NFL network. Reid and Dorsey have narrowed it down to 4 players and meet three times a day to discuss. They report the final decision will be made 4 days before the draft. Also report that Albert has no intention of showing up at this time because he expects to be traded.

So who are the 4 ?

It's not really that. It's that the Chiefs have been trying to turn other people's also-rans into passable QBs. Like they're trying to find Drew Brees. Who's about as rare in free agency as Tom Brady was in the draft.

You're right in that they need to switch strategies, though.

And they also need to switch their mindset. For them for years (Vermiel tenure the exception) the quarterback position has not been the engine that runs the team. It's been a middle management role where the credo is "whatever you do don't **** up".

They need an entire philosophy change. Which, as much as I disliked the hire, I thought would come with Andy Reid.

And then he traded for Alex Smith. Fulfilling both the "also ran" and the "middle management" requirements.

Yes, Tom Brady is a stroke of Luck. Andrew Luck is a stroke of Luck (given that the Colts fell ass over tea kettle into the #1 overall in his draft year).

The Washington Redskins had to pay for RGIII. The Ravens had to reach on Joe Flacco. The Atlanta Falcons had to endure criticisms and second-guessing to get Matt Ryan.

The Chiefs have been waiting for luck to bless them with a QB since Len Dawson. It hasn't happened. Time switch strategies and actively go out and find one.
The Ravens didn't have to reach on Flacco. They traded down in the round, from 8 to 26, after Ryan got drafted, and then traded back up. They could easily have taken Flacco at #8. It's luck, every time, because even the can't miss guys can miss.

He has won more playoff games in the last 14 years than the Chiefs have in their entire 53 year existence.

The CP collective "wisdom" has won zero.

He just might not feel strongly about these Qbs in this draft and alex was the best option for this year obviously. However I want them to take a chance on a first round QB. Pardon my mishaps in any of my response I'm on a phone

Alex Smith was taken first overall, so you've got your first round QB already.

A first round QB who's been healthy only 2 full seasons.

Better than awful does not equal good. A concept that I think sometimes this franchise's fanbase struggles with.

In any case, Reid was an extremely good coach at one point. Until about 2006. Unfortunately it's been a steady downhill from there. Until he finally fell off the cliff last season. I can't think of a coach who's ever squandered a more talented roster than he did the last two years.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, considering I've posted repeatedly that the Chiefs should take G. Smith if they think he's their guy.

Then again, it's you.
