Damn, I feel bad for the people who have to eat there.
Actually it's hard to eat out in KC and not gain weight. The majority of the food here is fried or all meat, or all fried meat and loaded with comfort food stuff. Even the salads have tons of blue cheese or bacon or cream-based dressing on them. I was at BRGR and ordered the grilled salmon sandwich: It was on two slices of bread with about 4TBSP of butter on each slice and tons of aoli inside. Where do you guys go to eat out for a good meal that's not loaded with calories? |

I eat at GC's 3-4 times a year since there isn't much option where I live. I never use that chocolate fountain because it is disgusting but their salad bar is decent. We usually go for their breakfast buffets they have on weekends. Kind of reminds me of Shoney's breakfast buffet but not as good.

I ate at GC one time several years ago. Like many people here, I was grossed out by all the fat bubba's and little kids putting their dirty hands all over everything. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I have no desire to ever return.

yep it is not like you have many options either. That is one of the downsides of living in small towns. Shit I know alot of people in Clinton eat Casey's pizza. People say it is good but I have no desire.

I haven't eaten at a GC is over 10 years but my Great Grandma used to like to take us to the one in Sedalia back in the day so that one in particular will always be remembered well by me. She always made sure we ate something other than fried chicken.

People always like to bash golden corral. Maybe the clientele leave something to be desired, but I've always enjoyed the food, especially the bread. Try going to one in a nicer part of town - they are usually cleaner than one located somewhere like west Independence.

Golden Corral is good for breakfast, but that's about it. Anything else is playing a game of Risk.
