The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: Week 14
Things that stood out in a quick bundle to me
The Good:
We were in a position to win the game, like we have been for the last 3 weeks of losses.
Alex smith last week, and this week, Looked good in the two drives in the 4th quarter which resulted in fumbles by a TE/WR
Jamall Charles TD/Playmaking ability, Dwayne Bowe's 3rd down conversion.
Defense held Arizona to 17 points.
The Bad
2 weeks in a row, could not score a game winning or game tieing drive. Denver last week, we complete a pass to the 30yard line, just to see it fumbled away with 6 minutes left down by 2 scores.
This week, a drive down by 3 with 3 timeouts, looking to be a lead changing drive, only to be smacked down by another 4th quarter fumble, (Questionable call overturn call)
Alex smith interception, Throwing the ball to a receiver on a 3rd and long, who at best, will only gain 5 yards if he catches the ball.
Receivers getting zero separation, You know its bad when you signed trash like an old Avant off the street that nobody wanted and he becomes arguably your most talented WR on the outside who holds most yards at 64 for the game behind Kelce, and becomes your best blocking WR on the field.
The Ugly
Jamall Charles averaging 9 yards this game, running all over Oakland. 2nd Half, we say F our best player and commit to only passing the ball with plenty of game left. (Jamall 10 carrys all game)
Last drive of the game with a minute left, one of the worst drives ever managed.
OC Play calling, QB decision making last drive of the game, If its not there, don't throw a 8 yard pass when there's 40 seconds left and no timeouts, you just took away 3-4 bombs or deep Number line catches with a 8 yard play that took up 25-30 seconds.
A coach OC/HC needs to tell the QB after this game, if we are ever in a drive like that again, you need to take a chance down the field. Period.
