Meh.. I have been married and 13 and don't care what chicks.are into. I am a physique competitor so I look more athletic I guess. I dont care about size as much as having the road map looking arms although my wife hates when I get real lean and vascular. I look great and get to torment her so it is a win win

I've been using dumbells pretty exclusively since I stopped powerlifting 3 years ago. No point in barbell benching if your not competing in a event or being tested for football. Build a better chess with dumbells and lots of fly movements, which is what the pec is designed to do (bring humurus bone across the body).

I have separated both AC joints and have tears in both RC's. I have to use virtually perfect form benching or dumbbell press or my shoulders can go 'dead' for weeks.
That being said my max bench is 265 x 3. No spot and false grip. Afraid to go higher as when I normally work chest no one is around to spot. |

I’m 45 and a trainer pt and what worked for me was good nutrition with two days a week hitting it. As a 6’3 205lb with long arms at 30 years old got 225lns 34 times and 4-5lb max. The secret was two times a week drink creative before and throughout workout. Set of 10 with just the bar. Then put 135lb ND DO A SET OF 10. THEN FIND A CHALLENGIMG WEIGJT you can only do 12-15 reps. I liked putting the 225lb on because that’s what they use at the combine. Once you finish with that said move over to a one rep max so a nice long warm up rest for a couple minutes do it 225 max as many times as you can and then move over to a one rep max do this two times a week great creatine and you’ll see huge improvement within a year

My bench has suffered greatly since all this covid shit started. With they gym closing for two months at the beginning of it and fighting off injuries I am nowhere near where I used to be.
Lately on a good day I can put up 265lb x3. Before the pandemic I was up to 310lb. |

I am a month away from 47. Shoulder and back injuries are killing me. I will get in a good groove at the gym and then all of a sudden one of my herniated disks will flare up doing something not related to actual lifting such as putting a 25lb plate on the bar and I will be out for 2-3 weeks.

Proper form prevents a tremendous amount of the stress on shoulders. So many people use shitty to poor form when benching.
