Assume that you idly buy a state lottery ticket while getting a doughnut at 7/11, and voila! You're a winner! You win your choice of one the five houses that will be shown.

I'll give you five houses in a state, and you vote on the house you would take.

Background rules:

Assume that your job situation won't need to change - you can find an identical job or work from home or whatever, so jobs don't matter.

Consider the house itself and the location and anything else that's important to you (schools, restaurants, lot size, etc.). Feel free to do a google map search to check out the neighborhood and the area.

You cannot sell the home. You can live in it as long as you like, but when you move out, it reverts back to the state as a prize for a future winner.

All houses will generally be in the $900,000 to $1 million price range.

All maintenance and utilities and taxes are cost-neutral compared to your current home.

If you wouldn't move into any of these homes, you can instead accept a cash prize of $50,000 (tax free).

Today's state is West Virginia. Here are your five houses:

Huntington - http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...4-49262#photo0

Kenna - http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...6-25765#photo0

Morgantown - http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...1-03677#photo0

My rankings:

Berkeley Springs - This place has weaknesses - small size and no garage. Also, those trees growing in the middle of the house will be a nightmare to remove when they eventually die. I don't even know how you'd remove them. But the house is really cool and it's on a good-sized property. I would take this one because of the novelty, but the cool design comes with a cost. I pick this one first with great hesitation.

Vienna - A nice, classy house near the river whose interior is much nicer than the exterior curb appeal.

Morgantown - A nice house, pretty big, close to the river. It's in a bigger town, which is good. I'm meh on the interior of the house, though.

Huntington - I feel like I should like this house, but the style isn't consistent. It's certainly a big house, though.

Kenna - I like the 80+ acres of land, and the house has some nice features, but for some reason it doesn't speak to me.

I have never spent much time around that area so I'll defer to the people that live around there to help guide me on this one.

I would pick the Morgantown place first then probably Vienna and Huntington after that.

The pool and the big yard are nice plus Morgantown is a college town which provides extra scenery.

I like the Kenna one the best although Morgantown is good and has a pool. I think in the end I would take the 50k. I don't want or need a huge house and I wouldn't want to live in WV.

I'm not sure I want to look at the houses. West Virginia is beautiful, but toothless ****faces is who I live around now. Why do I want more of that? 50k would start my business and make me independently wealthy.

This was the closest heat for me. Not one really stood out in a great sense.

Vienna was beautiful but the feel was a bit too old-timey for me.

Berkeley has the coolest design but it's kinda secluded and on the small side compared to others in this heat.

Huntington is nice but blah.

Comes down to Morgantown or Kenna. Both homes are new, lavish, and large. Morgantown offers more access to city living, which I love, but 87 acres offered by the Kenna estate really reels me in.

Kenna it is.
