Mahomes named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. [not this week]

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...rs-of-the-week

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. The second-year pro dazzled in the Chiefs' 38-28 win over the Los Angeles Chargers with 256 yards passing and four touchdowns, adding 21 yards rushing on four carries.

Or Josh Allen. They will be looking to give some positive publicity for another young QB.

Mahomes just may win the award again.

The MNF game pends, but other than Ryan Tannehill, I dunno who else had a comparable Sunday. Albert Wilson meh...

Ridiculous. Mahomes is far exceeding anyone's expectations. I actually thought he'd have similar to Smith's #'s his first year, but with more INT's. Thought he may avg 1/game.

Dude is going full blown 1984 Marino right in front of our very own eyes. He's playing w/ confidence that's shooting to the moon and has weapons all around him and he wants to use all of them. Teams aren't going to be able to stop everyone, and it's safe to say that Mahomes is only going to get better the more games he plays.

Nobody every would have thought this would have played out the way it has. Yes many believed that Mahomes would be the real deal, but I'm not sure many could have predicted this kind of production and in the ways he's done it. He passes the eye test, looks like a poised vet, has a cannon of an arm and dares teams to beat it.

It's magical. It's like a breath of fresh air to have a QB that wants to play past the chains rather than in between them. Teams don't like to play defense and cover the entire field. Teams are going to have to do that vs Mahomes.

simply breaking the all time record for touchdowns to start a season, let alone a career, clearly warrants the award.

if this was his first start due to an alex injury in week 2, then no, he would not deserve it

Nah - Mahomes needed at least one more TD. 3 pts. in the second half aint gonna cut it.

And that's... ok.

No point showing all our cards every week when we were never close to in danger of losing this one.

It will either be Mahomes, Tannehill or Allen, assuming we don't get a huge offensive performance from a Steeler tonight . . . .

I only See Tannehill 3TDs 289 yards 155 QBR or Jordy Nelson 173 receiving yards as this weeks AFC competition.

Mahomes could win again

But was the pass 50+ yards in the air?

The people giving out these awards don't know how many points he scored in the second half.

Actually I hadn't thought about Baker Mayfield, Don't think he had the stats but he balled out. He could get the award.

I think it'll be this ^^^^. Allen led the Bills to the biggest underdog upset in over a decade. Plus as DRM08 said, the league will want more positive pub of a young QB.
