But to be a little helpful I guess, I ran a Tech Support department that had a lot of users call in on Satellite Internet. By the time I left in 2016, satellite Internet was at least serviceable. You should look into that.

Rural internet is pretty awful, you're looking at shit like Century link and Hughesnet which is extremely expensive for not much bandwidth and if you like to game forget it satelite net just won't get it done.

My parents live out in BFE and have Wireless ISP, where their signal is beamed from a tower to an antenna on one of the dormers of their house (not a cell phone). Their speed is 6Mbps. It is incredibly unreliable, and the antenna needs to be replaced at least once or twice a year because the housing leaks. Even when it works, it ****ing sucks.

Looked into Hughes and asked the neighbors, they said it sucked so I was hoping there was something I was missing (especially since I'm not ready for this new internet thingy)

I've got a little module thingy from Verizon that plugs into the usb on your computer that works great anywhere. It doesnt plug into an electical outlet, its stand alone ,about 3" long. But it's only good for the computer its plugged into. $20/month. I just got it to take with me to the lake when i go to texoma.

See if there is some rural co-op or small town OTA internet that you can find. May be your best bet.
Jet packs are good but limited in bandwidth.
