Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I am super-geeked about all 5. Probably to the point I'm sure I'll be let down...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Well the lady in the video said reports out from World War Z aren't good so we'll have to see..

But Kick Ass and Star Trek were amazing the first time around, Iron Man has one of the most charismatic on-screen characters of this generation, and After Earth has Will Smith. No way those will bomb!

It doesn't seem like World War Z would be great. There's no actual running plot to the book.

Yeah, they just kind of jumped around recounting the events from different perspesctives 10 years after the fact.

My guess is they're just using the name to draw people in. Not sure how well they could emulate the book.

just watched "antichrist" with willem dafoe.

Holy christ.....I cant get that film out of my head! Some of the most disturbing scenes I've seen on film ever.

That said....it's a pretty damn good psychological film.

Watched Braveheart all the way through for the first time.

Great ****ing movie. If Mel Gibson weren't a racist douche I might be a fan.

It's OK to like Braveheart. We didn't know he was a racist douche then.

Anyway, it was decent for what it was. The fighting was better than I expected, the comedy was close to over the top but not too bad, and the characters were infectious.

Spoiler!

In other news, Salma Hayek is still ****ing fine. I looked her up, and she's 46. She's quite possibly the hottest 46 year old ever in the history of mankind. Son of a bitch. She is goddamn hot.

Kevin James must have worked out A LOT to get into that kind of shape. He looked good.

The thing I did like about the movie was it didn't pull any punches about education sucking bawls these days. I don't think teachers are doing nothing like James was. but the commentary between him and Hayek about the system was poignant. Yeah, it is a dramatization, but the problems in the movie are real, and they really didn't pull any punches talking about it. Good on them.
I saw this last night and agree on all points. Especially Salma Hayek. DAY-UMMM!!
