Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I just watched Dinner for Schmucks, it was fantastic! After all of the cold water thrown on this movie from professional critics, I was a bit hesitant to see it. But I'm glad I did, it was quite funny. Jemaine Clements character was well-written and acted, he was nothing like his character from Flight of the Concords and I think he actually steals the show. Steve Carrell's character was a little too far over the top at times, but usually very funny and Steve Carrell did a good job playing him. His exchanges with the other characters where he takes what they are saying too literally are some of the funniest parts of the film. The mouse dioramas he makes are amazingly detailed and very cute. Paul Rudd's character was not as funny himself, but that's to be expected as he's playing the straight guy we can relate to while all the wacky characters bounce off him. But Rudd's scene which he hurt his back was just fantastic acting, you really felt his pain. Zach Galifinakis was good too, and not over-used. The foreign chick playing Rudd's girlfriend was pretty but her accent was kind of variable and that was distracting, also her character was very one-note and existed mostly to express shock and outrage. Her and Rudd didn't have any real chemistry and I didn't find their relationship believable. Overall, I was consistently laughing throughout the movie so I recommend it. BTW, despite the PG-13 rating I think it should have been rated R for the sexually-explicit dialogue. It's not appropriate for younger teenagers.

I watched "White Chicks" at the gym today. It was amusing. At least for a minute and a half anyway.

Actually, pretty much any scene with Terry Crews is ridiculous.

I tried to convince myself to download that movie, but couldn't come to waste the storage, even temporarily.

I think there is a hot woman somewhere in it, maybe that is worth waiting for?

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's not remotely funny. Salma Hayek is hot....that's about it.

I just watched Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Very solid movie.

-I grew up a huge fan of Shia Labeouf.
-I'm studying business, not finance per se, but somewhat in the field.
-I've loved Michael Douglas ever since Traffic.

Oliver Stone kills it. Also, Josh Brolin kills it, as usual.

How do you grow up a LaBeouf fan? He has only really been around like 7 years, and most of that time was spent on an awful Disney show. I will say I liked him in "Holes", but that was before he became an insufferable butt plug.
