Life Concrete Dye or stain. Any experience, knowledge to share?

We are redoing a bedroom. There is a concrete floor under the carpet. We are thinking of trying Staining or Dyeing the concrete instead of putting tile or carpet back down.

Anyone ever do this at their house?

No, but I bought a huge 4 bedroom house last year that has stained concrete floors. Not a stitch of carpet.

It's a rental property . Lot's of people like the "no carpet" aspect due to allergies. One bedroom has a huge crack in the concrete from the foundation settling . Other than that the stain aspect that was used on the concrete is fine.

We stained the concrete in my whole basement a few years ago. Cheaper than carpet. Still looks fantastic. Do it.

There is very little carpet in houses down here in Florida. It's almost all tile. Thought this might be something a little different.

we finished our concrete basement.

We didn't like the facts that stain can peel or fade.

So we stripped the concrete clean and put a clear polythene.

Now we have shiny concrete colored floor.

So there you have it.

Our upstair floors are colored concrete. The color was added into the concrete as it was being poured.

Cost more, but we didn't want the risks associated with staining.

Ours isn't. We didn't seal it like that because there can still be water inside the cement, and then it will bubble up. Ours absorbs some water, but dries just fine. Makes it easy to clean.

Good point. Our concrete had fully cured over two years.
