Dryer Lint..
Let's talk about lint!!!!

So I bought two of these kits (I needed 20 feet of rods), and wow! I guess not cleaning the dryer duct for 10 years will do that! After I ran the brush through the duct, then I blew it out with the leaf blower. Wow, just WOW!!!

Collect your dryer lint all year, stuff it in empty shitpaper rolls, and use it to start fires inside or outside the house.

Please tell me that the vast majority of your dryer duct is smooth wall metal pipe and not that crappy flexible stuff. Especially if you needed 20 feet of extensions.

One shouldn't use more than 3 feet of that flexible stuff. The photo of the lint build up will explain as to why that stuff should not be used.

All smooth metal. But since I didn't do it for, like, EVAR....

Drying time has been cut by a third, perhaps in half.... It took this long to tell because it never took more than on cycle to dry the clothes, so this time we had to set it to "time try" and check every 15-20 minutes. So, even "time dry" wasn't a norm 'round here, but from what we recall/suspect, it's about 1/2 to 1/3 the time.

This will save coin in many ways! Perhaps enough to attend this year's Chiefs home playoff games!

Right now I have the crappy flexible stuff and it's on about a 7ft run. I'm running a Maytag Neptune which has an incredible amount of back air pressure so I haven't had an issue. With that said after reading this thread I'm debating redoing it with metal as a weekend project.

Our dryer is right below the vent, 5 feet of flexible stuff is all we have.
