Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I really like that setup.

Is that a custom fit holster or is it one of those deals where "one size fits most"?

I ordered up a cheapy nylon drop-holster from amazon that should work for my Sig but am thinking of getting something nicer for the 1911 that I can hang off the gunbelt.

It's specifically customized to the weapon when you order it, down to the barrel length.

Thought so. Any idea what the waiting period for something like that is right now?

Normally it takes a couple of weeks - they had an issue with their leather supplier, so it will be an extra couple of weeks. However, they e-mailed AND called to let me know, and said they will expedite shipping when they're ready (I ordered one for the 1911 and one for my XDm) so it would minimize the delay.

It's a 9. I had it tricked out by my gunsmith a couple of months ago - Dawson sights, trigger job, barrel throating and polishing of the slide and other internal parts. It's like a different gun now. Cost about $400. Worth every penny.

Only problem is that with the new front sight, it won't fit in the old plastic holsters I had.

Have a lead on a case of .22lr at .06 CPR. Waiting for an email. How sad that I am excited about paying $30 per brick.

Well, here comes the spike for .40 S&W ammo.

Was thinking of getting a .40 since there seems to be plenty of ammo left for that caliber on the shelves.

Since taxpayers are paying for BILLIONS of DHS rounds lately, it only seems fair to send all registered gun owners a crate/ea. Right?

That's probably the idea, but I doubt if we'll appreciate the delivery method.
