Exactly! Everyone knows who Jeffry Daumer and Charles Manson is but I bet no one could name one victim of theirs. Maybe a little too old. I bet I could mention Columbine and who comes to mind? I bet you not a victim. I don't know what country it is but the media isn't ever allowed to report the criminals name, before and after the trial. I think I like that idea.

This isn't a movie about Denis Rader or BTK. It is a movie based on one of Stephen Kings short stories. It's about a woman who discovers her husband is a serial killer when she finds his secret stash of souveniers from his victims. He was inspired to write the story when he read a news article about BTK. It is not a retelling of Rader's story.

It is a really good story. The book that includes the story, "full dark, no stars" is fantastic. It has 4 novellas including the one this movie is based off of. A couple of them are truly disturbing. Stephen King at his best.

While I'm not sure I would support a legal ban, it seems like it would be a great idea to not release the murderer's name. It would also save the murderer's family a whole lot of grief that they usually don't deserve.

It could potentially control some of the serial killers who are motivated by receiving attention...which accounts for many of them.

Who knows if it would ever happen though...I'm sure the media cashes in somehow when these people are caught and the details are released.
