Easy 6 Mock Draft 2018

Drafting need with no imagined packaged picks scenarios, everything is straight up

2 - DT Tim Settle: thickset powerhouse at 6'2 330, can push double teams back and also displays a knack for getting after the pass as well, very nimble for his size and has a nice swim move... he is the roadgrading manster this defense has been lacking

3 - CB Tarvaris McFadden: strictly a press man player which fits us to a T, solid size at 6'1 200, can flip his hips and run step for step with speed, knows how to high point the ball, is a solid boundary player

3 - SS Kyzir White: big physical wood layer at 6'2 215 will allow Berry to lose some weight and move to FS, easing the burden on his body, White is aggressive and violent vs the run and has the speed to stay with most tight ends, closes fast on the blitz

6 - OLB Kylie Fitts: would walk in as a grown man at 6'4 260, long arms and uses hands well to disrupt blockers, excellent motor will get second effort sacks, effectively sets the edge vs the run

7 - DT Kendrick Norton: has the power to win in a phone booth, can get upfield and knows how to work angles, has good get off at the snap, good swim move and is very agile at 6'2 315

7 - CB Michael Joseph: solid developmental prospect with the speed, fluidity, and size at 6'1 185 to play press man, solid ball skills and is a very willing tackler

Dumbass.

That said in my best Dane voice...

Now that we've cleared the air (and by the way no offense necessarily was taken, although that was a sad attempt at a pot shot)...

I'm not at the combine because I choose to make more money than a hack scout by doing accounting. Of course, with one undergrad major in physical education, I more than have the prerequisite skills to assess body movement and become a scout but then I couldn't pleasure your asses with my hot takes.

Also, pundits talk out of both sides of their ass fairly consistently. I gave you the proof. You can't call a workout bad when I provided a list of recent top picks that have virtually identical numbers. Who was it bad compared to? Certainly not men of similar or lesser size that play a similar position. He's right there with a good percentage of his peers. Certainly not compared to the guards and centers that will be blocking him. So, then, what is it that was so horrendous? The fact is, you can't say it was and your only argument thus far is to say "well the pundits say so." If you called it slightly below average, then you'd probably have an argument. He wasn't quite as quick and didn't have quite the burst of some of his peers in shorts. You know what though, this is the game of football. The game of football isn't played in shorts and track shoes. Settle's tape is very good. I'll take good on the field over good in shorts every single day of the week and twice on Sundays, especially when we're arguing a goddamned nose tackle.

I agree with Crow. I think it may just be that people get hard ons for big guys doing well at things big guys should not be good at, e.g. people creaming their pants over Vita Vea's 40 time (even though he tweaked his hamstring) comparatively makes Settle look worse for being bad at something a big guy should be bad at, especially because the 40 time is irrelevant.

Don't you mean Milkman?
Hey man I am proud for you that you have a degree in Accounting and believe in your own evaluations of players. If you are all about money. A scout is the first step to either a coaching or management position in the NFL. Money is good but money from doing something you love is the easiest money a person will ever earn.

We will see what NFL teams think about Settle. I think SNR said it best.

It's the same shit as those years. We needed big guys in the middle, and for whatever reason, we weren't able to use our high picks on the position. They eye this one particular dude who looks decent in college, peg him as the ideal 3rd round pick or so, and then when he gets passed multiple times, they go apeshit.

Yeah, lol, probably milkman... I don't keep track of that shit much.

I did look into scouting a few years back and what some "seminars/courses" would cost. But, with kids, it just isn't the life I can afford to have. I'm happy doing what I do at the moment and if that changes, who knows.

I don't agree with SNR on Settle. I don't think he's the lazy guy that a guy like Thomas was coming out, etc. I also don't think he has blinders on when he's on the field. I think he absolutely gives it all on the field and he's done some work to get where he is with his weight. I think a team keeps him at or under 340, he's going to be pretty good in this league. He definitely makes plays away from his frame and is aware of where the ball is going. That's 90% of the battle at NT. The rest is having the strength and technique to make sure you can get there.

I'd be fine with Tim Settle in round 4.
