John Dorsey pre-draft press conference

Tidbits so far:

-180 players exactly on his draft board
-Clark's statement about the tampering appeal will say it all (he sounded pissed off when he said it).

You can't be serious, can you?
A GM hitting on 17% of his draft picks is something worth celebrating.

But taking some random OLBer and trying to "transform" him into something he's not is just outright stupid and a complete waste of resources.

BPA.
Not when you don't have a starting corner. We need to get our secondary straightened out. Denver's 2014 first round pick (Roby) is their slot. Hell, they signed a marquee FA in Talib and then drafted a corner with their very first pick that same year.

We all know what happened this past season. Denver won the SB with an elite secondary and pass rushers.

Yes, it is. If Apple, JIII and Makenzie are gone, it would be a reach at #28.

You're a dumb troll anyway. **** off.

What did I say that was trolling?

It doesn't matter if some are not with the team anymore. Most of the time players are shipped out when new regimes come in.

I'm not saying Pioli was an all world GM. He had major flaws which got him fired. What I'm saying is that he built the foundation of this defense. Poe, Houston and Berry are the best players at every level of the defense.

Bullshit.

The Chiefs defense was fine without Berry in 2014 and won 7 games without Houston last year. Poe wasn't 100% last year, either and Berry was a no-brainer pick.

While the defense is better with those players at 100%, they're not the "foundation" by any means. And the defenses absolutely sucked ass under Pioli, anyway.

Throwing away resources and drafting for position only is beyond ****ing stupid.

How old are you? Don't you remember the Vermeil years, in which the Chiefs kept wasting draft pick after draft pick on the defensive line?

Eric Downing, Ryan Sims, Eddie Freeman, Junior Siavii, etc. and so on. The Chiefs didn't draft the best players, they drafted for need it got them nothing.

Same happened in 2008 with Glenn Dorsey and 2009 with Tyson Jackson. Neither of those players were the best player available.

It's a stupid "strategy" that should be avoided at all costs.

Those three are the foundation of your defense for the next 3 or 4 years.

In a perfect world, sure.

But as we've seen, it's never a perfect world for the Chiefs.

And no one will ever convince me that Berry isn't overrated by Chiefs fans.

Obviously you don't take 'Joe Blow' who is projected mid-third-round pick in the first just because of need, but if a guy like Apple is there at 28 then you take him.

He's good and a position of need.

Also, this is a passing league and they're not that far off from mimicking Denver.

Once again Dane is making the mistake of massively underestimating what Eric Berry means to this team and just how talented he truly is.

Yeah, so vital that the Chiefs had the best secondary in the league in 2014 without him.

Eh, I don't think so. They gave up less yards iirc, but they were much better this past season. The entire defense was a shit ton better this year.
