Cleveland Browns linebacker Quentin Groves was among over a dozen men arrested as part of a prostitution sting operation in the Ohio towns of Beechwood and Orange in Cuyahoga County, reports Vince Grzegorek of the Cleveland-based Scene magazine.

According to the report, Groves responded to an ad and requested "full service" from an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute. Groves agreed to pay $100 for one hour of service and was taken into custody upon his arrival at a room at Homestead Guest Studios.

Groves is due in court on May 10.

Originally selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second-round of the 2008 NFL draft, Groves was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2010 and spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals. In 79 career games, including 29 starts, Groves has 153 tackles, 6.5 sacks and a pair of interceptions.

The Browns signed Groves to a two-year, $2.4 million contract on the opening day of free agency. That deal included $500,000 in guaranteed money, which was paid out in the form of a roster bonus on March 14. Groves is scheduled to earn $715,000 in base salary along with an $85,000 workout bonus this season. Groves also has a $1 million base salary and $100,000 workout bonus in 2014 and his contract has $1 million ($500,000 in each season) in available incentives tied to playing time, sacks and team performance.

Groves' arrest occurred on April 17, the second day of the Browns' three-day voluntary minicamp that ran from April 16-18. Groves is projected to be a backup outside linebacker behind Paul Kruger and Jabaal Sheard, so his spot on the roster is far from secure. If the Browns chose to release Groves, they would end up eating the $500,000 roster bonus, but would owe him just $175 for each day he participated in the offseason program, which began on April 1.
