Electric Guitar Purchase Looming
I've been playing acoustic 6 string for about 5-6 years now and I am drooling to get an electric.

I have no idea where to begin. I do know the sound I want to achieve but am clueless how to get there. The sound is pretty close to this song:



What do I need besides an axe and amp? Humbuckers, pickups, hiccups, humpickers? Teach me, planet.

I Just partially sanded my Strat down.
Gonna stain it and put a gloss on it.

Started out as a squire.
Pretty much every component has been up graded. It's a full fledged Strat at this point.

One of a kind as well.

I love Godin guitars.

My problem throughout the years has been that I'm left handed. Not too many models available. Particularly - PRS SE series.

Can't believe I didn't check this thread out earlier.

Dude, Oceansize is one of my fav bands of all time! I'm glad you know who they are DMAC.

Funny thing is, the attached video is of Catalyst (from the first album "Effloresce") yet, has the album art from "Everyone into position". Someone ****ed up. Anyway...
I instantly went and grabbed the link to this video which I came across a few years ago:




While this walkthrough was for their later album, I doubt it has changed all that much.
Also keep in mind, Oceansize consists of 3 guitars... so which one are you looking for? My guess would be Mike Vennarts...?

Bryan has some seriously beautiful stuff. I don't know about the tone, but he's a sound engineer... Kinghat knows his shit and quit his day job about 6 months ago to dive in to the build and repair business, and I've heard his stuff and it's A+.
