Mon, 25 Feb 2013 07:36:51 -0800

The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking to move out from the No. 1 overall spot in the NFL Draft regardless if they acquire a quarterback via trade, according to multiple league executives.

Far as I know, at least 95% of the mocks that year were calling us for Stafford.

He also had Mohammed Massaquoi (2nd round draft pick @ WR) and a guy named Knowshon Moreno (1st round RB).

Geno Smith has never been extremely impressive. He's very up and down, which hopefully our coaches could correct. He has extremely impressive tools, and he seems like a good guy, but his on the field product is much, much worse than Stafford's was, and against weaker defenses.

Stafford was on a loaded team. WV had Geno and three WRs with no RB O line or defense. To me Stafford's arm is a 'little' over rated Stafford was a better prospect but they're not that far apart. At this point if I were to do another comparison of other QBs to Geno Smith I would put him between Bradford and Stafford as a prospect.

I'd take Geno over the rest of the QB's drafted in the last 5 years except Stafford, Luck and RG3.

Also like to add even though the Lions were heard to be shopping the pick, their coach said they needed to get a pro-bowl QB up there. Similarly, when Reid was asked about the QB situation here he first stated that we have the 1st pick...

Stafford has a damn howitzer. His arm strength is WAY better than Smith's.

That's what I have been saying. And the pundits were projecting those guys to go to Detroit at #1.

Just like what is going one here maybe?

Maybe in the end it was Geno all the way... and all the rest is due dilligence.

If Reid does really love Foles, and if Chip Kelly really wants Geno Smith, maybe then a swap? Other than that, I just don't see teams giving up a lot for the right to take Geno Smith or Luke Joeckel.

I don't agree 100%. I think its more of a transitional thing. If Alex Smith is brought in, I don't really see a reason why a QB can't be taken first overall. I wouldn't necessarily expect it, but I wouldn't rule it out completely. I think in the worst case, it just means they don't see any of the rookies as week 1 starters.
