Orlando's first MLB start. How cool. And if I'm not mistaken, the first position player from Brazil to start a game I'm MLB history.

I can't sit and watch baseball for three hours. It bores the living sh*t out of me. Even when the Royals were in the world series, I tried to watch but literally almost clawed my eyes out.

Regular season I tend to agree. Hard to watch without DVR. Postseason, I watched every pitch

One of the things I enjoy about baseball is how well it translates to every medium. Television is great. Radio is great. Reading about it in the paper/online is great. Even watching the game cast on my phone is great.

The downside of baseball for the casual fan is that it's a very subtle game, and if you don't follow it closely day to day, it's hard to miss things. It's easy to yell at a manager for not bringing in a reliever or for not bringing the pitcher back out when he's been dealing and is only at 95 pitches if you don't know that the reliever just pitched the last two days or that the starter threw 125 pitches his last outing.

Steroids sucked, not because of the "cheating" aspect, but because it took the strategy out of the game and turned it into a contest to see who could bash it over the wall the most.

I believe I get the jist but be honest: if we had the guys bashing the HR we'd have liked it quite a bit. Did you enjoy the two HR last night by Hoz & Cain?

Of course I enjoyed it. Then again, Hoz and Zo aren't roided out freaks who lack the ability to run, catch, throw, etc. but get by solely because they knock the ball out of the years 50 times a season.

Baseball is better when there's a reward for athleticism.
