If Michigan State wins the Midwest region is going to be the Big Ten plus Oregon.

Everybody has been saying the B1G sucks. A couple of upsets doesn't change the entire season of suck.

This board has always bashed Big Ten basketball. Part of that is just being Big 12 homers. I think the football criticism is usually pretty valid, but I always say the basketball rarely is. Teams like Wisconsin and Michigan are much better than their seeds if you actually watch them play. Well coached, several seniors. Both teams have very good senior PGs, a talented senior swingman (Irvin/Hayes) and a very good big man (Wagner/Happ). I'm not the least bit surprised either made it this far.

Time for KU fans to get nervous.
When the Wolverines win in the tourney, Michigan State is also more likely to advance. |

The perceived styles and strengths/weaknesses of conferences can take a while to die... it took years of B1G football being terribly overrated before everyone seemed to catch on, and people were still talking about them the same way when OSU won the NC. Same for basketball in the B1G and Big 12 and elsewhere.
