Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I keep an eye out for PMC Bronze on sale, for plinking ammo. You can find it now & then for 6 bucks a box. I think the last lot of 500 I bought was at Cabelas
I payed right at 5 bucks a box of 20. Other than having to ream the primer pockets. Its good brass for reloading. Most military brass like PMC will have to have the primer pockets reamed to seat a 7-1/2 primer properly.

edit what kind of rifle are you shooting in 5.56 or 223?

So both PMC Bronze and Herters are on sale at Cabellas:

http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shoot...Tz_stype%3DGNU
http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shoot...Tz_stype%3DGNU

Is Herters okay even though its steel cases? Its $0.50 cheaper per box and 62gr rather than 55gr. And it is okay to shoot .223 ammo in a rifle chambered for 556, right?

Also, thinking about this sight - http://www.opticsplanet.net/burris-a...dot-sight.html

Just got my Lucid sight delivered. It is bad ass.

They screwed up and sent the wrong magnifier, which is sort of ironic because I had previously screwed up and ordered the wrong magnifier. So now I've got the screw in magnifier I wanted in the first place. But, since I've already ordered the mount for the 3x, they're still going to send it, but I kept the 2x anyway.

Goofy situation, but I'm cool with it.

Hopefully that will be this weekend. One of my friends just picked up an AR and we're supposed to hit the range on Saturday.

He's got an EOTech sight that would probably work perfectly with that 3x sight and mount I've got coming, and it would be several hundred dollars less than the EOTech equivalent. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up buying it from me.

I've heard mixed reviews about these? The price makes them really interesting, but again I've heard good and bad.

She's had no complaints about them at the shop. Bob Dole has no firsthand experience with them.

you got it. I know the owners of a range/gun shop in the area. One was over seas with me, we can take you there and you and mrs can get your hands on a few types, put a few rounds through them and really see what you like/want.
