3. The Rams are scheduled to work in Colorado Springs, at altitude, for a week beginning Tuesday, because Mexico City is 1.3 miles above sea level. The Chiefs studied that and chose to stay in Kansas City for the week before making the 3.5-hour flight Sunday. Coach Andy Reid told me, “The elevation’s the elevation. I’m sure the Rams are gonna work at elevation. We’re not. I don’t think it becomes an issue. We did our homework on that this past offseason. It doesn’t really matter. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the parking lot of the CVS.”

From watching several soccer games held at Azteca - it's not so much the altitude, but the combination of altitude and horrible air pollution.

The logistics/burden of relocating their practice/game week operations to Colorado Springs could negate any supposed benefits of acclimating to the altitude.

Also the altitude is only a part of the issue... the field conditions and the very poor air quality will also be significant factors.

As I pointed out earlier in this thread, I have no idea why they would go all the way to Colorado to practice at altitude when there are options much closer to Los Angeles, within driving distance even.

2 hours away, 6,000+ Elevation.

And it snowed pretty heavily down in the Springs yesterday and today. Is it cold in Mexico City?

This is in San Bernardino County, and the offshore winds are keeping all of the smoke out over the ocean...at least right now. Air quality in the San Berdoo's would be a non factor most likely. And even if it was, with the altitude and pollution of Mexico City, it would probably be good training.

When I trained for my marathon, I flew from LA to Denver and had to run 15 miles. I did it. I am by no means a natural runner. I hate running. It was not hard to do.

As long as the team doesn't drink booze the night before the game, they'll be fine. I would expect to see Marcus Peters puking on the sideline, because that dude will absolutely be getting loaded.
