can't delete program

hi guys, i'm trying to remove setpoint (mouse and keyboard program) from winxp but when i hit the remove button a window appears that is titled ms master installer and an error message that there is an invalid argument and stops dead in its tracks...

any ideas on how to remove this program without using the control panel?

Couple things to try....

Boot into Safe Mode, and try uninstalling it there. Power on the machine, and just after the DOS screen goes away and before the Windows screen is shown, keep tapping the F8 key.
You should be presented with a DOS boot menu that will let you select from Normal Boot, Safe Mode, etc. Choose Safe Mode.
Let it boot to Safe Mode, and try and uninstall again.

If that doesn't work, see if you can find the original install disk, or download a copy from the internet.
Reinstall the program.
Then uninstall it.
Sometimes that will do the trick.

If neither of those solutions work, you might have to either use an uninstaller application, or manually search the registry for "Setpoint", and delete all instances. But try the first two options first before resorting to that...

Pretty small chance with an older program, but you could google to see if there is an uninstall program online.

shit, neither worked...

i'm very reluctant to go into my registry since i don't know exactly what i'm doing...

i got an error message when trying to reinstall that said invalid argument and it stopped the installation process again...

why am i so cursed when it comes to computers working right?

i still have that old problem of the cursor and keyboard stopping and starting or delaying before moving/typing... never solved that one and now another problem?\

i'm cursed...

Yeah, manual registry editing can get tricky if you're not familiar with how it works. I'm hesitant to recommend that, especially if you're hesitant to do it to begin with.

You might try an uninstaller app if you're still feeling frisky. I'd suggest one called IObit. It's free, and I've had good luck with it in the past.

http://download.cnet.com/IObit-Unins...-75161625.html

(Click the download that says "Download Now", directly under the IOBit Uninstaller name. Ignore the green links that say "Free Download".)

There's a video there showing you how it works. It's pretty straightforward. See if that will uninstall it for you.

If that fails........ You need a fresh upgrade my friend. Bring that bad momma jamma to KC for a day and give me a heads up, and I'll get that sucker squared away once and for all. Will work for beer.....

I used Advanced Uninstaller Pro version 11 do do my uninstalls. It also cleans up the registry for shit that uninstalled programs may leave behind after they have been ejected. Very easy to use.
