Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

I doubt we'll draft him. He's going in the 2nd round at the latest and we don't have that pick.

We will have a colony on mars before KC wins a game with a QB they've drafted.

I understand this. But i do think things in KC are not as grim as a lot of the posters here are making it to be. Get Alex for a 2 year stop-gap, get a young QB, let him learn. Throwing a QB into the wolves den dose not always work like it did for Seattle, Indy and Washington.

I think you guys underestimate your new HC more than underestimating Alex. Guys like Vick, Foles, Kolb all played very well under Reid and Alex is better than any of those guys. Well I'd put him in Vicks category, but better at certain things and worse at certain thing.

Alex can play well when he plays within a system. He is a system QB. Ask Urban Meyer, ask Harbaugh. He won't be out there gunslinging but he will run Andy Reids offense efficiently.

They are spending a good amount to get Alex here. New regime to me it seems. I would trust a guy like Andy Reid. He's got a pretty good idea of what he want's.
Alex Smith isn't in the same ****ing galaxy as Mike Vick.

We've pretty much cornholed ourselves into that first overall pick, or we're gonna trade down for dick. If we could trade down and get a second this year, you almost have to do it.

Don't feel sorry for him, it is mostly his fault he sucks and is getting traded. He needs to be made an example of.

Where exactly are we getting this QB? We aren't picking one at 1.1, we don't have 2.2, and we're not going to have a 2nd or 3rd rounder next year.
