Let's talk about the Chargers...

Chiefs can wrap up their 3rd straight AFCW title on Thursday w/ a win over the Chargers.

Phyllis typically shits his pants in Arrowhead, but their passing game presents a problem as we saw wk1. Lots of dropped passes on wide open looks. Wk1 looks a lot different if their WR's come down w/ some of those misses.

Chiefs OL gets to go up against Bosa this go around, OL will have their hands full again going up against him and Ingram. OL will need to play a lot better Thurs, than they did today.

Even though it's TNF, Arrowhead will be rockin' for another primetime game and I think Patrick Mahomes shines, and puts the team on his back. Gonna be tough though, Chiefs are banged up, and it's a short week. But it's a short week for them too, and they have to travel.

The real NFL season has just begun fellas. Go Chiefs!

This is the type of game that the Chargers struggle with. Short week vs a coach that routinely outcoaches them, travel to a hostile environment and play in bad temperatures.

Rivers doesn’t have the same velocity on his deep passes. Bob Sutton always gets the best of him and Rivers doesn’t do well in cold weather.

It’s going to rain during the day. It will be below freezing and we have one of the few QB’s that has the arm to negate weather issues.
Rivers is undefeated in Thursday night road games vs 11-2 teams in sub 40 degree weather. If the Chiefs lose, that means they will likely go to the Super Bowl and get destroyed like Broncos did that year (2013).

This may be the biggest regular season game for the Chiefs of my lifetime (born 1989).

This looks to be our best shot at a Super Bowl in my life so far and this is the most important game of the season.

FYP We had a great chance with Joe M, but he was concussed in the AFC Championships vs. the Bills. Also in 1998 whoever won against the Chiefs and Donks was the best team in the AFC and it game down to the last second. The Donks then won the Superbowl. Still, this is the best chance since then and it's a lot of fun!!!!

What is Rivers' career record in KC? I'm guessing it's not that bad with how many terrible teams we've had. More specifically, I wonder what his record in KC is when we were, let's say, 8-8 or better on the year.

I think that's fair. But it will quickly be replaced by whichever game follows that allows us to lock up the #1 overall seed IMO. That will be the most important game - the game which puts in a position to have to win only 2 games at home to be in the Super Bowl!

This is an all hands on deck game. Hill and everyone who can play must step up. We win and then have 10 days to heal up before traveling to Seattle. And if things were to fall our way we could clinch HFA when the dust clears Sunday evening. All hands on deck!

I've seen twice in this thread that Ware isn't looking too good to play Thursday, yet nobody is talking about it. Are Williams, Williams, and West good enough to keep the Chiefs from being one dimensional if Ware can't go? I mean these guys were 3rd string, 4th string and a street free agent before Hunt got released. The running game is my biggest concern right now. If we can't make them pay for ignoring the run game, they'll be free to turn Boss and Ingram loose on Mahomes all night. Add in that Erving is likely not going to be able to go either at guard and that presents a big problem.

Chargers are due for their late season meltdown, which will happen at Arrowhead. Chiefs should win by 3 TDs however the Rivers offense will get bailed out a couple of times, Chiefs win by 7.

Chiefs get a Riverception and some inexplicable fumble by Rivers (like that victory formation fumble back in like 2010).
