Yeah...it was Lynch's fault that they didn't give him the ball.

It's not because he's a player - it's because he's black.

This is probably true. Denver's entire OL refused to speak to the media during the 90s, and it was viewed as a funny quirk.

What he said is true. They all know what he's going to do....yet they keep coming back asking him stupid questions. Guess what....ignore him and go someplace else. He's not going to change what he does...even if he gets fined.

I don't think it is seen as charming or funny, it is just the Belicheck gives political answers, which is at least words. I just don't think Lynch is capable of that kind of speech, so he chooses to not say anything.

Well into the piece, Silver (who's been close with Lynch for many years) got Lynch to expound upon why he doesn't just play ball.

Quote:
"I've never seen anybody win the game in the media. But at the same time, I understand what it could do for you, if you wanted to be someone who talks a lot. But that's not me.

"And I'm not as comfortable, especially at the position I play, making it about me. As a running back, it takes five offensive linemen, a tight end, a fullback and possibly two wide receivers, in order to make my job successful. But when I do interviews, most of the time it'll come back to me. There are only so many times I can say, 'I owe it to my offensive linemen,' or, 'The credit should go to my teammates,' before it becomes run down.

"This goes back even to Pop Warner. You'd have a good game and they'd want you to give a couple of quotes for the newspaper, and I would let my other teammates be the ones to talk. That's how it was in high school, too. At Cal, I'd have my cousin, Robert Jordan, and Justin Forsett do it.

"Football's just always been hella fun to me, not expressing myself in the media. I don't do it to get attention; I just do it 'cause I love that (expletive)."

From what I heard on the radio and in print, he doesn't really have a good record of scoring from the one yard line. Could that have factored into their OC's decision?

well it is easier for the defense to dial in on a run at that.... but if they were gonna pass... go I formation and play action and lob it up to Matthews in the corner

That could have.....but the whole argument that he didn't get the ball because of how he speaks to the media is bullshit.

I like how he's treating the press. They can be annoying. I feel bad for the guy after a tough loss. I usually feel that way when a contender loses the big game. I especially felt that way after the Panthers SB. I like and really felt bad for Jake Delhomme, when he stood there in tears.

You are right. Karma is a b---h Sherman. His face was so great when NE intercepted the ball.

I don't think that's quite true. He had more TDs on goal-to-go downs than anyone else in the NFL this season.
