Never cared for raw fish.
Love cooked seafood of any kind. +1 on the chocolate chips. |

To this day I can steal one small spoon of uncooked batter but now I much rather prefer a baked cookie. |

I've always wondered about this. Cooked or raw, the food should essentially be mush by the time it reaches your stomach anyway. What's the difference? |

isn't there a difference between cooking veggies ie steaming/baking them vs microwaving foods in general, in regards to nutrient loss?

Cows and humans both eat grains. Cows have two stomachs just to break down the grains and get nutrition. Humans simply cook the grains. Every human culture cooks their food. The ones that didn't, died out. |

So eating potatoes raw is a thing? Just hadn't considered it before because I haven't found myself starving and that was the source of food.

On a side note, a study was done that showed if you have no sense of smell potatoes and apples taste the same.

I haven't eaten them in years, but when I was a kid my mom would often slice a raw potato and put salt on it as a snack. I remember them being quite tasty.

Making me curious enough to maybe try a piece for the hell of it next time I'm slicing some up.

Before I met my wife seven years ago, I hated all vegetables. I have slowly increased my veggie intake.
I'll eat carrots, squash, zucchini, onions, green peppers but only cooked. Everything else sucks. Although fresh green beans are quite good after they get steamed. Lettuce can suck my balls. I will say Ruby Tuesday's salad bar is legit. Bout the only time I will eat a salad. |

Here's a nice article on the matter, from a reputable source, with lots of links to actual scientific studies showing that microwaving doesn't degrade nutrients, and is in fact one of the best methods of preserving nutrients. https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/mic...and-nutrition/ Quote:
