Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Saw Zero Dark Thirty. It is a good movie, though by necessity it felt a bit oversimplified. I imagine pacing and clarity determined that, but I just felt like they/she jumped to some conclusions that weren't really in the intel. I would have been fine with her acknowledging the holes and going with her gut, but it felt like assertions were validated just to satisfy a film making requirement not a CIA requirement.

Jason Clarke was great. Solid cast overall.

Has anyone seen the Premium Rush flick with Joseph Gordon-Levitt?

I saw the trailer in Avengers and it looked kinda cool for a lame ass plot, but haven't heard a thing about it..

I liked it a lot. I made the comparison simply out of movies starring hillbillies, they are 2 different movies entirely, IMO.

So is Looper worth a watch? Is it just kind of an action movie with an interesting story that provides a bit of entertainment but not necessarily some great piece of cinema?

It's ok. It's entertaining. You have to sort of look past some questionable choices by the characters for the sake of plot, but it's worth a rental.

Just watched Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol which was entertaining.

Tom Cruise seems so normal when he's acting; its almost hard to believe he's so damn weird.

Also, Paula Patton is perfect.

Just watched Looper. It was an entertaining movie and worth the watch. Some parts of it really get you thinking about the circular effects of one's actions.

The definitive BHH, IMO

Whoever said something about the falsetto being the key to the performance was right on.

This isn't took shabby either

Ramin's version is more dynamic and emotional, but Mandy just catches something that only he could, a plaintiveness and despair.
