The NFL doesn't think Mahomes is a first rounder.

https://mobile.twitter.com/RLiuNFL/s...draft-and-more

There's the list of the 22 prospects that will attend the draft.

I'm kinda disappointed that if KC selects Mahomes, he won't be able to go on stage and do his thing...Kizer, Watson and Trubiski were all invited.

Odd.

I don't know why people aren't higher on Webb than they are here. The difference between the two isn't all that much. And Webb should be available without a tradeup. Reports are out that the Texans love Mahomes. They don't have as much ammunition for a tradeup, but are also a lot more desperate. If they were both available at 27 then I probably lean Mahomes, but I'd be perfectly happy with Webb

I don't know anything about any of these QB prospects.

But the consensus seems to be that Mahomes has the highest ceiling, and I'd rather take the guy with the highest ceiling that needs a year, or even 2, to develop than the guy with the lower floor.

Normally Id agree I just dont know if Mahomes is fixable or not. If he is you have a damn good QB. Webb to me in the few games I watched is a more accurate Brock Osweiler.

— The odds-on favorites to land Mahomes are the Chiefs. But the Texans are a close second. One hypothetical: The Chiefs trade up with the Colts (now led by former Chiefs executive Chris Ballard) to ensure them their top-ranked quarterback.
http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news...n1aj1kfmu5ijpd

Idea I floated a few weeks ago. I bet Dorsey has had talks with Ballard about a trade.

We've only had ammo to trade up one time in this regime after the Alex trade and Goodell fisting, but the options were bare in 2015. I doubt it happens but now is the time.

LOL imagine if KC had this draft? I originally wanted Kamara over Hunt because of his speed and ability but loved Hunt as well. Was stoked about that pick and he's played college ball in my hometown.

Okay, so look...

People can give me shit for liking Geno Smith to the degree that I did. That's fine. But they should also know that I while I was thinking with my heart, I was moreso thinking from a perspective of, "Well, what ****ing better choice do we have at 1.1 in this draft class considering who's on our team and what we need?" Luke ****ing Joeckel? That's who all the NFL Draft guys wanted us to take. The fact that Dorsey took Fisher is inconsequential to the idea that you may as well aim high and fail spectacularly even if it doesn't work out.

However, assholes like King need to realize that for every QB you take pride in that you correctly pooh-poohed, you deserve MORE criticism than the people who dream if you get a guy wrong.

If you were to pick any drafted QB in a given draft class, what are the odds that guy will be a bust? 80%? 90%? 95%? It's easy to say, "Geno is a bust." It's easy to say that about any QB barring the ones everybody slobbers over like Andrew Luck.

So that means when you get one of those picks dead wrong, you should get ****ed way harder than somebody who ****ing DARED to pick a QB who would actually succeed.

Just my opinion, of course.

Another example.

From the dipshit who brought you the phrase, "I just don't think any of the QBs in this draft class are Andrew Luck" and says it every ****ing year.

There probably isn't an Andrew Luck in the 2019 class, either. OldSchool doesn't have opinions on college QB prospects. Why have one of those when you can just assume they'll all bust except for any Andrew Lucks that come around once in awhile? You'll be correct most of the time! Makes total pussy sense to me!

Keep it real instead of pushing your agenda.
Yeah, I remember. I know this is old, but there's some revisionist history going on here. Most teams felt NEITHER guy was a #1 overall quality pick, but SF was awful and QB desperate after jettisoning Garcia and T.O.

It was pretty well known SF would pick one of the two (there was no consensus) and the other guy would fall at LEAST to the 15th pick. Multiple mocks predicted the slide of the 2nd QB. Rogers was a guy where people spent too much time scouting his school and the system he played in rather than his talent. "Oh, Tedford QB's always suck"

Most people felt SF was reaching for either guy, which is why they couldn't trade the pick. They tried to trade it too, because they knew they'd get the top QB if they did trade down. They could have traded down to 10 and got Smith. Most teams at the top of the draft didn't want EITHER GUY.

Some of the comments about Webb and Mahomes make me shake my head. Watched every snap of those guys at Tech. Webb has a big arm but he struggles with accuracy. I don’t mean completion percentage, I mean putting the ball on the money for YAC. Mahomes was an immediate upgrade in this area. Kind of important to set up your receiver for YAC in the Air Raid offense.
