This will be commonplace in the not too distant future. The applications for this and other nano technologies are awesome.

Probably not apples to apples there. I donít think Norway/Sweden have the tax loopholes that we do. The effective rate in USA is 18-20%.

What loopholes did they use, surely we have some specifics.

Bob Bryan: Amazon avoids paying federal taxes using a variety of tax credits and tax exemptions that are legal and built into the U.S. federal tax code. Some of these can include the research and development tax credit which allows them to deduct some of the costs of new investments and also a big one for this past year was the ability to deduct stock-based compensation of executives.

Well neither of those for any reason would be a "loophole". Compensation, salary and benefits are in fact an expense and thus are applied as a negative amount to gross income to calculate taxable earnings.

R and D expenses are again an "expense" that reduces the net taxable income of any business entity.

I don't intend to have a grand debate over what should be legal and allowable, my only desire was to see if we had anything new to add when someone used the grand sweeping "loopholes" as if following the law and doing proper accounting for expenses and income is a dastardly act by big business.

Amazon should be in court and fined for any infractions they are found guilty of.

would be interested in specific loopholes that should be eliminated but normally they never seem to surface

Most of our loopholes have been closed in exchange for lower marginal income tax rates.

When taxes were much higher, like in the 1950's as the left loves to use for raising them to those levels again, no one paid them because loopholes were so abundant. That's not true any more.
