How do I "plead the fifth"
Is it like the tv shows where you just say "I plead the fifth" or do you have to preface it ?

Also, my understanding of the fifth amendment might be a little hazy since college government. Is it only for self incrimination or can it be used to not incriminate someone else ?

I was threatened with being handcuffed and taken to a police station for questioning when I pleaded the Fifth. Talk to some lawyers after and the advice was all different—and that was with the full story told.

I did finally talk, and two witnesses also appeared. So they left me alone.
