We will draft Geno Smith even if Pioli is still here

I'm not worried.

It's destiny I tell you.

My uncle and I were talking about this today. The one thing that burns me more than anything is that now everyone is saying that there is no elite talent in this draft.

You don't know that. Go back and look at any draft experts commentary on Aaron Rodgers. Even Chris Berman was begging the Packers on ESPN's coverage to take him while he waited in the green room. The point is that nobody knows, not a damn person knows. Everyone is a risk, a calculated risk, and the only question that is important is do you want to take that risk on a player thats graded out as a early to mid first rounder or someone who is graded out to be a second or third rounder. I vote for the first rounder.

Logically speaking, taking Teo or Jarvis Jones and then picking up a quarterback later would be the more logical move. Take the best player available and then take the risk later on with your next pick whether you move up or sit still. I get it. But we're past convention now, the majority of fans are screaming for a quarterback, some for Smith, some for Barkley, some for Wilson, or some for another quarterback in the draft. Everyone who wants one of those names thinks the others have bust written on them.

But back to my original point, you don't know. We cannot do anything about the talent of quarterback that was given to us in this years draft as opposed to last year, so save your bullshit comments about theres no luck or griffin in this draft. Its in the past, get over it, I see it as there is a Smith, Barkley and Wilson in this draft. I don't care if he has a release like Jason Campbell, I don't care if he has the mobility of Cassel, and I don't care if he has a USC trojan logo on the side of his helmet, what I care about is can he lead a team, can he be a quarterback in the NFL. The rest is up to the interview process and scouts, but in the end I'd rather take the chance earlier than later.

The unfortunate part of it all is that we as Chiefs fans are used to crummy QB play, so we either chalk it up to 1. Anything is better than Cassel. or 2. We never get lucky in the draft with great quarterbacks. Anything is better than Cassel, but that doesn't mean its good. All it takes is one quarterback, one guy to prove us wrong but were so in denial that will happen that we doubt the possibility of it ever happening. At least we can hope that whoever the new regime finds, will be worthy of giving us something to believe in again.
