I could see this breaking as the argument about old school vs new, as in arguing about sports greats. As one who witnessed the original SNL, it's very hard to believe anyone could beat Belushi, Hartman, Curtain, or Farley.

Belushi is my favorite, FWIW.

I take it that we should judge by the work that was done on SNL and not subsequent shows.
