Madden '17

Anyone getting a little excited? Seems like they have really made an effort this year.

Franchise mode is getting an overhaul according to recent news:

1. Full player editing while your franchise is progressing.

2. Coaching/FO decisions.

3. In-game ticker with live updates.

4. Practice squads.

5. New commentary team that will actually talk about things happening in your franchise.

6. Draft has been tweaked with more busts/gems.

Gameplay improvements:

1. Zone Coverage overhaul.

2. New ball-carrier special moves.

3. Real gap control on defense.

4. Real ball physics. In the past the ball would tether to a player based on ratings.

They also overhauled kicking to make it a challenge now. There's a new three-click system and weather/location will play a factor. Also, apparently on clutch kicks if the opponent "freezes" the kicker by calling a timeout the kicking meter will disappear and you have to make the kick by muscle memory. Kicks and punts can also be blocked.

How badly all of this shit is ****ed up on release remains to be seen but it does seem like they are making a big effort.

Downloaded the Mobile edition and have fought my way into the Hall of Fame in H2H matchups. I've been ranked just inside the top 4K; sitting at about 4,600 right now and I'm just not willing to put any real money into it so there's a definite barrier just a bit above where I am. Those guys have spent serious coin on high end gameplans, etc... that give them a pretty decided advantage.

I purchased the digital download about a month ago.

Everything worked fine until two days ago when it started freezing up after the game was over and it was trying to load the main menu.

Happened to me twice and and after having to force restart the PS3 I just shut it down and let it sit for about in hour.

Came back, played a game no problem, at the end it ****ing locked up again….

Mine was smooth too. The only glitch was the abortion of a kicking system. Pure garbage. Either an auto make or glitvh block. All due to the MOAR BLOCKSSSS 5 min quarter Madden Nation morons

You won't have a single block if you randomize the snap on kicks. When you tap the button to stop the accuracy indicator, instead hold it and then release it for the actual snap after 2 or 3 or 4 seconds.

If you're just tapping it every time to stop the accuracy indicator eventually the CPU will jump the snap.

This goes for punts too.

My only issue with kicking is if you set the accuracy slider low enough to where you or the CPU will miss a kick once inawhile, it results in auto-misses in bad weather for human controlled players. You literally can't kick an extra point.

That's why it's broken.

Again it's hardly broken. Blocks are easily avoided, and you can avoid the bad weather issue by raising the kicking accuracy slider.

...and you can also avoid robo QB by lowering ACC on both sides to 10! Dumb you would have to do either one to have a sim game. It's a game catered to MN ballas. Same old Madden.

It's not the "same old Madden." They made marked improvements.

Finally picked this up last week. I don't get much time to play, so I'm using that "Play the Moments" feature where most of the game is simmed and you only play in the Red Zone, 3rd down, big plays, etc.

1st season, Alex shits his pants in the WC round. I draft a QB at #24 overall and ride him to the SB in my second season.

BTW, Tyreek Hill is a ****ing monster on this game.
