TRADE MANIA!!!!!1!!

Assumptions:

1. The Chiefs trade Branden Albert to the Dolphins for a 2nd and a 4th.

2. The Chiefs trade the #1 overall to the Eagles. The Chiefs get the Eagles' 1st, 2nd, and 2014 1st.

On with the show:

1. Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M

The first three picks in my hypothetical:

1. Philadelphia Eagles: QB Geno Smith, West Virginia
2. Jacksonville Jaguars: DE Dion Jordan, Oregon
3. Oakland Raiders: DT Sharrif Floyd, Florida

So the Chiefs still get their man, save a few pennies in the process, and get a 2nd and a 1st next year int he process. Win, win, win win win.

2. DE Margus Hunt, SMU

Hunt's roof is as a JJ Watt type beast, but he may find himself falling out of the 1st round, just barely. But that's where this Eagles selection comes in.

Tyson Jackson has one year left as a Chief. He is not a great fit for this style of defense, while Hunt has some serious possibilities.

2. OLB Corey Lemonier, Auburn

Lemonier has the three qualities I most desire in passrushing prospects: he's got speed, arm length, and college production.

Tamba Hali may not be long for this team, either. Hali's a big chunk of the cap and is on the wrong side of 30. Reid may be concerned with any kind of physical regression from a guy who's already at a bit of a physical disadvantage compared to most other stud edge rushers in the league. The Chiefs might be thinking about dealing him in a year, you never know.

3. WR Aaron Dobson, Marshall

I absolutely love this prospect, and I've been waiting for a few mocks to pick this guy up. From a smaller program, yes, but Dobson is a quick-twitch, near-flawless route-runner who's as close to a finished product as you're going to find in this draft. He might earn the #2 spot over Baldwin and Avery by Week 1.

3. S Eric Reid, LSU

The Chiefs need more support in their secondary, with Dunta Robinson officially being pegged as a nickelback. There's a couple safeties here I have with this grade, but Reid's the one that exploded onto the scene in 2011.

4. OG/C Travis Frederick, Wisconsin

Wisconsin continues to consistently produce high caliber offensive lineman. Frederick is a natural center, which will come in hand to protect this team from a potential failure by Rodney Hudson to recover by Week 1. Frederick's size and technique could adjust him to guard perfectly fine.

4. ILB Nico Johnson, Alabama

I've advocated for taking a starting-caliber SILB with a midrounder all offseason. I'm falling back on Nico here just because I like the guy, even though Bostic, Alonso, Klein, and Riddick all provide equally sturdy options.

5. QB Matt Scott, Arizona

Andy Reid loves trying out some developmental QB prospects, and he's clearly a fan of the QB system in Arizona. Scott had a phenomenal Pro Day recently, so if you combine that with a rather limited and unspectacular career with 'Zona, he makes the most sense as a 5th rounder.

6. K Dustin Hopkins, Florida State

As the team prepares for the new salary cap battles of the 2010's, it's time to make smarter budgeting decisions. Handing out a hefty contract to a decent but unspectacular (word of the day!) kicker in Ryan Succop isn't smart business. The Chiefs should perform their due dilligence, and ask Succop to take a pay cut. If he doesn't, then Hopkins is the best kicker prospect to come out in three, maybe four years.

6. RB Dennis Johnson, Arkansas

Knile Davis gets all the attention for blowing up the Combine, but Dennis Johnson is the best runner you haven't heard of this draft season. His rushing average totals nearly 6 yards a carry, and his versatility will be right at home with other versatile backs like Charles and Droughn.

7. NT TJ Barnes, Georgia Tech

The Chiefs could use some more depth along the defensive line. Barnes has dropped like a rock, and now risks being an UDFA due to tremendous weight control issues (he's now 370 lbs). But hey, this is the 7th round. Draft Barnes, put him on a treadmill all year, and maybe something becomes something.

Hmm, switch Lemonier and Frederick and you've got yourself a draft IMO.

Dobson is instantly the 2nd-best WR on the team. Actually, he reminds me a lot of Bowe of all people. If you haven't seen it, check out "Aaron Dobson The Catch" on youtube. I was watching that game last year (2011) checking out Vinny Curry when that play happened. Re-dic.

I don't like Barnes, though. As big as he is, he gets pushed around. It doesn't even make sense. Much better off taking Byron Jerideau or Mike Purcell or Jared Smith IMO. Probably AJ Francis is a better choice at NT as well. He performed much better in the same conference. Played 5T at Maryland last year in a 3-4, but played NT in their 4-3 the previous 2 years.

I like Nico Johnson as a SILB in a 3-4, he's got the experience.

I fell in love with Dobson at the Senior Bowl drills. You can see him in YouTubes that isolate him against DBs, and he runs such crisp routes.

Then, yes, I saw "the catch," which is just sick. But I'm more impressed by how well he masks his moves, it really did look like corners were just guessing which way he was going to go. And this guy is from Marshall.

Anybody remember Cecil Shorts from The Citadel? I think this guy is a better version of that dude. I agree with you, I think he starts for the Chiefs today.

It's a sad day when the logical #1 pick to put in your mock is Joekal. I miss the days where Geno was in the conversation.

Matt Scott will absolutely not be there past the 3rd round. Seattle is in love with him, and wants someone who can come in and run the same offense if @DangeRussWilson goes down. They also aren't afraid to reach for a pick, and may take him as soon as the 2nd round. Frosty and I have been discussing this a bunch over the last month.

Still agree, but now I'm wondering if giving up their 1st round pick for Harvin will affect that. However, they don't really have any glaring needs, so a luxury pick on Scott may still be in the works.

Well, and based off the CP Mock, Eric Reid may go in the first two rounds. I honestly thought his stock has fallen, but what do I know.

I love Aaron Dobson, but if we want him I think we'll have to get him in round 2 because he'll be gone.

He just ran a 4.40 at his pro day (6th best in this WR class), he has as much talent as any WR in this class, his route running is crisp, his hands are incredible.

But good news is there are a lot of really good WR's in this draft. I would love Robert Woods, Aaron Dobson, Marquise Goodwin, Markus Wheaton, Quinton Patton, Stedman Bailey or Ryan Swope.
