Let's help some Blue Springs Kids play football and look good!

Hey guys, a good friend of mine is a teacher and parent of kids in Blue Springs who basically found themselves without a football team. They have been working hard to raise funds to buy uniforms and other equipment but they are still short, with their season rapidly approaching.

Here is a little background:
"The Predators are a newly developed team in the Blue Springs Athletic Association. This team is made up with players from the depleted Eagles and players that were dropped or not frozen from their previous team. This team does not have any uniforms or helmets. They are using the BSAA helmets as of right now. We all just want our kids to play and learn discipline, socialization, and the game of football.
With this said, we have to do fundraisers to get our uniforms. Most of our team do not have $60.00 to just give out for fundraising, so we have to sell HyVee booklets. We are looking for sponsors to help us out. We want to stay together and be a team for a long time. We appreciate your time and effort with helping the 8 year old Predators football team.

Again, thank you for your time and help."

I think they are around $600 short right now for the basics, and could use more to get better helmets and pads. She asked if my business would be interested in helping and I told her yes, but I can't cover the entire amount. If you are interested in helping PM me or reply and we'll get these little players decked out! If we can raise enough there is a good chance the team would be called the ChiefsPlanet Predators.. oh the irony!

I'll take contributions via PayPal or any other way contributors feel comfortable doing it. I'll keep this post updated with pledges and a running total.

This should be a localized Blue Springs community deal. The other thing is that if the Parents want their kids to play, they should be forking over the lions share of the money - any way they can get it.

Seriously, there are A LOT of worthy causes to ask for money here at CP, this doesn't even hit the top 1000. I don't get it, but good luck to you anyway.

I'd recommend they look/play to the south in Lee's Summit.

And, a little city war/rivalry here, I'd say the Blue Springs High School coaches and booster clubs should get involved if they really have a need.

Your point's not lost, but in many leagues the "freeze" shit is just goofy, so these kids might be fine players, but some coach's shitty kid, and their three assistant coach's shitty kids are automatically frozen, then they have these other politically and/or talent bullshit freezes that shitty leagues allow, and you get this crap. So I'm not sure they were cut because they lack talent because of all the freezes allow.

And at what I'm suspecting are kids 10-14 years old, "cutting" is bullshit. I'm all about competition, but there are WAAAAAAY too many cases of these leagues going this way. I, for one, think it's crap.

But again, the two high schools have DEEEEEEEEEEEP pockets, and place a LOT of value in their football programs. So I'd think the coaches could talk to the boosters and see if they can support these kids as they might be part of their school's football future.
