Please recommend me some for the season. I'm currently fresh out ideas, sans Sinister which I'll be seeing this week.

I always thought Prince Of Darkness was very creepy.

Looking back now they talked about quantum physics and the nature of reality in ways most sci-fi/horror didn't even really consider until a decade later...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

people often feel the movie is never as good as the book. and it's understandable as the book can take you so much deeper into the story during several hundred pages than a 2 hour movie ever could. but they really missed the mark with this movie. I thought it was just terrible.

Eh, maybe. I'll watch it im sure, but it looks more like torture-porn than horror.

My issue with movies like this is that it's the same damn played out recipe that we've seen over and over again the last 10-15 years. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre effect.

You know the routine....4-5 random college students go on a road trip, end up in some weird back-country area. They introduce the characters via shitty banter as they drive down the road, thus giving them zero depth. Throw in some titty shots, maybe a **** scene or two and then start start chopping off limbs and spraying blood everywhere.

Pretty much every horror movie made in the last 10+ years aimed at the 15-25 y/o demographic.

Imma still watch it though!

The Interrupted Journey is pretty creepy if you do any research into the Betty and Barney Hill case.

Same for The Mothman Prophecies...

I'm unable to post the trailer atm but It Comes At Night is getting GREAT reviews (new horror film starring Joel Edgerton comes out on June 9). Just a heads up.

That's awesome! I just bought this on blu ray like a week ago. Loved it at the theater when it first came out.

My girlfriend never used to watch scary movies (because they're too scary of course). But now I guess she feels emboldened since I'm sleeping next to her every night and wants to watch nothing but scary movies.

We've watched basically everything that's come out in the last year or so and I've been trying to go back in the history books for some other good ones.

Problem is, she doesn't like anything that looks too dated. So what movies would you guys recommend on this side of the turn of the century?

Thus far we've watched The Strangers, Orphan, The Conjuring, Insidious, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Sinister, The Descent and we're planning to watch The Skeleton Key soon.

I debated on Hostel and Wrong Turn but she doesn't like the gory stuff too much. For that, she's not much into zombies flicks either so I'm holding off on Dawn of the Dead remake and 28 Days/Weeks Later.

Any other suggestions?

How about Drag me to Hell, It Follows, The Orphanage, 30 Days of Night, Session 9, and Saw?

So It Comes At Night was a massive rip off . Literally was NOT a horror film at all. Not completely terrible by any means but I was expecting it to be scary (based off the trailers) . Oh well.
