So, I didn't see a thread started, and all the others are pretty maxed out to the point where a fresh thread would be needed soon either way.

Time to share the run up to ST & and another memorable year in the making!

Forgot about this one from today. Can't believe they gave him $42M/3 years though.

Only a 3 year deal and gives us a good 2 hole hitter between Eaton and Abreu.

Went up to Surprise just to see if anything was happening today. Arrived 10 minutes before they played a 2 hour intrasquad scrimmage. Mostly relief and younger pitchers with all the main guys but Gordon batting and playing the field for 5 innings. Joe Blanton got absolutely torched by the hitters. Didn't even get three outs before they just stopped the inning. Moose, Cain and Hosmer all had good hits. Hosmer drove one to dead center which smashed off the upper portion of the high outfield wall. He later ripped another line drive right over second base. Morales looks slightly slimmed down over my memories of him from previous years. Drove a ball to the deep center warning track and I thought it was Billy Butler for a second.

Two incredible plays in the field by Raul Mondesi. Kid has a crazy glove with amazing lateral quickness. Dozier is a much bigger kid than I expected. I know he lists at 6'4" 220lbs but he holds that weight very well and looks heavier actually. And while he isn't super quick at 3B, he's not slow either.

After the scrimmage a bunch of minor leaguers were set to have practice along with reports that Zimmer was set to throw off the mound. I waited around for half and hour and they weren't doing shit so I left.

A few of the big guys signed before the scrimmage and then left after the 5th inning. I asked Dozier to sign a ball at the end and he did. Tried to get Mike Sweeney later to sign a ball so I could send to Gblowfish but he blew me off. Oh well, I heard he's been signing bible verses under his signature anyway.

Terrible photography from lewdog today and his phone.

Did you REALLY expect The Legend in His Own Mind Mike Sweeney to sign autographs? That is so below him.

I guess he signed a ton the day before. He seems friendly enough. But I guess he doesn't believe Jesus signed on Sundays so today he wouldn't sign either.

Old time Cuban star Minnie Minoso died yesterday. Kinda sad. Great player. In conversations with my mom she always talked about what a great player he was.

Everyone is SUPER OVERRATING James Shields and it's not even funny. He is a solid pitcher, don't get me wrong...

but losing him doesn't suddenly mean we're a 4th place team,

It's getting ridiculous. It's like none of these people even watched the Royals last year.
