Not sure what year they were, but they were both given to him after winning the races. Brickyard 400 I think so whenever that was.

I think someone on this website kept a 1973 corvette in storage that was a pace car, and it is worth less than it was back then. Pace cars since they are ugly as shit kinda suck

Jeff Gordon's Brickyard wins and the corresponding pace cars
1994-Chevrolet C/K Pickup or Monte Carlo? 1998-Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2001-Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2004-Chevrolet SSR (lol) 2014-Chevrolet SS Judging from that lineup, $15,000 and $19,000 sound about right. The only one that would appeal to me at all is the 2014 SS. |

All Barrett Jackson auctions are no reserve. You can place a reserve on the high dollar rigs, something like $300k but the 95% of them are no reserve.
I have a good friend that does the auction scene for a hobby. Back around '06 or so when the market went nuts a car he had just restored sold for $475k. A dark green '70 Hemi 'cuda, 4 gear, #'s matching. The next year Scottsdale was flooded with '70 Hemi 'cuda's & they struggled to reach $200k. Mecuum, Silver State & the other auto auction houses normally are NO reserve. B-J is a chance I just can't bring myself to take. I had a '70 Challenger with the 340, (didn't make small block 340 R/T's this year) that only had 2 interested parties so I offered it up to a dealer who frequents auctions. He tried beating me up to get off my $30k threshold but I never budged. He bought it for that price & took it to BJ less than 6 months later & I guess the bidding stalled around $35k but all of a sudden took off & ended @ $57k. Ends up being highest selling high performance, non big block, E body Mopar they've sold.

No they're not. You can pay them to place a reserve. I watched a bunch of cars roll off the block with no reserve met.

The cars that yield high dollars are generally numbers matching, rare option model-type cars. Restomods do't do very well when compared to what they cost to build. The higher end restomods, anyway. Seems like every one of them is a loss.

Yep. Don't build a hot rod or resto mod for $150k and then take it to an auction and expect to get your money back or make money. You built a a custom car to your liking. It don't mean crap to the rest of the world no matter what you think. Custom is custom, Build it and KEEP IT. Unless you have more money than common sense you should never ever build a custom and sell it unless you are willing to lose $$$.

I've seen the same one for sale on one of my Facebook groups for well over a year. No way it's selling for $60k asking price.

She bought one a 70 Cutlass and the other a 70 GSX [this was late 80s]. I used to wrench around on the GSX for a bit and he got it down into the high 10s on street tires. The Cutlass was white with the white on chrome mags like that above, but wasn't a convertible. He ended up turning the drive shaft into a spiral dropping the clutch one evening.
