NE Patriots Call Out New York Slimes for Fake-News Photos

Yes, this is a political topic.

This must be the Left-leaning rag's idea of "alternative facts:"

The New York Times attempted to take a cheap ideological shot at President Donald Trump by comparing organization attendance by the New England Patriots football team between President Obama and President Trump...

However, the cheap shot attempt backfired against the New York Times when the New England Patriots organization pointed out they were not comparing accurate attendance.

In the 2015 picture the support staff were on the stairs, in the 2017 picture the staff were seated in the audience.

I've literally never trusted the news. As soon as I was old enough to begin to comprehend what the media was feeding me, I spat that shit out. Even as a child I could see the bullshit for what it was.

You also don't have that itching feeling like when a "journalist" is speaking there aren't strings being pulled by the big whigs on Capitol Hill, like you get when you watch MSNBC or some other jack ass channel.

Might as well write that down and put it in a time capsule so future generations know all they need to know about the 2010s.

I haven't watched a single second of "news" over a year. haven't read any news on purpose (meaning, hey, let me log into xyz site and read what's going on in the world) in probably the same amount of time. It's all horseshit.

It's been glorious.

Did you pull that percent out of your arse? You're no different than the NYSlimes.

Apparently you didn't read the link, which included the tweets by the Pat Org on the numbers. In 2015, it was 36 and this year it was 34. That's a difference of 2. Tom Brady didn't go because he didn't when Obama was in office. It would look bad. And he's been a friend of Trump's.

Why are you misquoting me? The "meh" is to the story being small potatoes, and the sportsdesk editor immediately took blame for the dumb tweet and said he was an idiot for posting it.

So, they retracted it and the person responsible for it took responsibility.

I'm sure this is confirmation you wanted of the big bad, evil NYT, but it doesn't amount to anything more than making a mountain out of a molehill. The editor took the blame, they retracted it, and the fact of the matter was that nearly a third less (32%) Patriots showed up at the WH visit than in 2015.

Comparable photos: The last time the #Patriots won two Super Bowls in three years, 36 players visited the White House. Today, we had 34. pic.twitter.com/Aslvf1RaXU— New England Patriots (@Patriots) April 20, 2017
Wrong:

2002 - over 50
2004 - 36
2005 - 27
2015 - around 50
2017 - 34

From Patriots beat reporter, Dan Roche. Numbers confirmed by Stacy James of the Boston Globe.

No one cares, it's a dumb story that shouldn'thave run in the first place.

Wow the NYT apologized.

New York Times Editor Apologizes for Posting Misleading Patriot White House Photos

Quote:
Jason Stallman—sports editor for the Times—took responsibility for the misleading photo comparison in a statement he released, saying,

“Bad tweet by me. Terrible tweet. I wish I could say it’s complicated, but no, this one is pretty straightforward: I’m an idiot.”

First, my observation had two sides to the coin. One side was the paper of record engaging in trolling. The other side the publics boredom that the paper of record is engaging in trolling.

Ironic that you're irate over being misquoted/accurately paraphrased, but sanguine about ostensibly reliable journalists favoring immediate snark over researched accuracy.

Meh, I was obviously trolling you. . .
