CIA says Russia interfered in elections to help elect Trump

Quote:
The CIA has concluded that Russia intervened in the 2016 election specifically to help Donald Trump win the presidency, a U.S. official has confirmed to NPR.

"Before, there was confidence about the fact that Russia interfered," the official says. "But there was low confidence on what the direction and intentionality of the interference was. Now they (the CIA) have come to the conclusion that Russia was trying to tip the election to Trump."
http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-w...to-elect-trump

Quote:
On Friday evening, the Trump transition team fired back with a statement dismissing the report of the agency's conclusion.

"These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction," the statement said. "The election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history. It's now time to move on and 'Make America Great Again.' "

In fact, Trump's percentage of the electoral vote in the 2016 election ranks 46th among presidential election winners in U.S. history

In all fairness, we aren't talking about some generic Dem/Repub, this is Hillary freaking Clinton!! I have no idea if the Russian government is behind this or not, but I would like to thank somebody!

Do the ends justify the means here is the question? Russia yanked open the curtain on Oz.

It does not matter. And I doubt it even affected the election. It's not okay. But I believe you should put country before party. I realize I'm in the small minority on that though. That's not where we are as a country anymore though, on either side.

Is there a source for this allegation mentioned anywhere in the NPR article quoted in the OP, or the WaPo and NYT articles linked to it? All I am seeing is that 'a US official' said this.

They yanked open both curtains. One was exposed for all to see. The other may be being used for leverage. What's behind curtain #2?

It was a simple question in response to a poster's comment. Put on your big boy pants and try to avoid being triggered by such things.

Would you feel the same way if say, China, hacks a collection of information that eventually proves Trump is doing something illegal or immoral as President?

I'm not trying to act anything, you dolt. I asked a poster a simple question. It took him a couple of posts, but he answered it.

Assuming you have eyes, use them. You'll see that I never asked him a follow up or attacked his answer, once he actually gave it.
