Because why not move Anthony Rizzo off first? He's only one of the ten best players in baseball.

I don't know where you get that number from. Glass is rich but I don't think he's nearly as rich as people always think. It's hard to find concrete numbers. At the turn of the century around when he bought the team, his net worth was valued at about $300ish million I do believe. He was always considered a class below the real rich guys like Pohlad of the Twins and Ilitch of the Tigers... those guys are worth billions. I think most KC baseball writers assumed he was worth hundreds of millions, but not a billionaire. If he is now, it's probably because of the net worth of the Royals.

I could see him playing for the Angels or some other heartless, gutless team looking to infuse some #RoyalsDevilMagic into their clubhouse.

Yeah, if he goes somewhere else he's not going to be hitting 8th. Honestly when Rios signs somewhere else there's a good chance he's hitting 6th or 7th, or higher, for some teams. The Royals lineup was crazy deep at the end of the year.

Yeah I was being facetious with just pointing out that he batted 8th for us and it seemed to work so well which also shows the great depth that our lineup had. Any other team he would be in a more statistically appropriate spot.

I like Gordon, but he's not a player you break the bank for.

So a few more balls drops in left field... doesn't mean we lose those games, or lose the season.

We can find a much better bat.

Would Dyson be that big of a step back defensively in LF? Maybe platoon him against righties.

So you would bat the pitcher 8th and Gordon 9th?

I doubt he is worth that much. Forbes would have outed for one and the majority of his wealth is tied to the Royals value.

Is this article, written in 2013, his net worth was estimated to be $1.8 billion.

I don't know where you got the idea that he wasn't a billionaire but it's been well know since he became the Royals chairman after the death of Ewing Kaufman.

An unsourced figure from a twenty something blogger with a handlebar mustache?

I've heard many sports writers speculate at his net worth, and they all pretty much say $600 million to a billion is their estimate. He's not a multibillionaire. The Royals likely make up half his net worth.

There is a 0% chance that he was a billionaire when he bought the team...not even close.
