Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I believe Troy Industries is still the 'gold standard' when it comes to BUIS.

http://troyind.com/back-up-iron-sights

but they like everyone else appears to be crushed with orders.

Magpul's version I've heard is fairly good also. I don't believe either are 'cheap'. I have a pair of troy BUIS night sights. I like them so far.

Edit: whoops I forgot about ARMS. I actually want to get a set of theirs after the panic calms down.

For your trigger, look no further:

I personally have the S3G.

I use the ssa-e on my assault weapons.

For buis:
I have heard great things about the Troys, but have never used one.
I use a GG&G on one of mine.
I have installed the magpul ones for other people before, they feel a little cheap, but function properly.

Thanks for the tips guys. That should keep me busy for the AR (for now)

Next project. Anybody own/familiar with the SKS Norinko's?

I just finished my build and am down to figuring out what the hell I am going to do as far as sites/scopes/optics. Serious head scratching here with the way the rails line up.

You can see what I am talking about with the rails by the attached pic.

SKS in the middle shows the tri-mount a little higher than the quad-rail on the front.

Any ideas?

There are some Magpul BUIS on sale here - http://www.dvor.com/magpul-event-16-2013-01-29.html

It's a groupon-like email that you have to sign up for, but they have some good deals once in a while.

Mags change out much like an AK, albeit not quite as easily.

Had to run a file on the Tapco mags to get them to fit properly but they actually fit and change out pretty nice now.

edit: as far as the floor goes.... 6 coats of verathane and I gave up on the damn thing.

Brownells has really pissed me off. I ordered a 10 pack of Magpul's on 12/21 and they still haven't shipped. I have seen peopel who ordered the same exact thing in January and already have theirs. I called them this morning and they said they temporarily tried a new filling system that allowed newer orders to get ahead of older but they have since gone back to the orginnal but it won't be as fast.

Just ordered 2k 155 grain sierra matchking palmas from midsouth. They are supposed to hold supersonic speed past 1000 yards. They should be better than the 168 grain matchings I have been using.

EXCITED!
