Murder in St. Louis

This is disturbing. I was staying at a hotel two blocks away from this murder just a couple of weeks ago, and my car was parked a block away. It seemed like a reasonably safe neighborhood.

So do we think this was a random thing or were they particularly targeting this woman? I don't understand why they would immediately shoot one woman and leave the other one alive to identify them. And all they did was take the car and then abandon it (with the baby inside) a short distance away.

Not in my neighborhood. Those are people in other neighborhoods arguing at Arby's.

That's a very good theory. When they had the downtown parade last year for Peyton Manning's trophy, Von Miller showed up and within 15 minutes there was a house on fire. True story.

For whatever reason, even though Washington Avenue is considered one of the streets that has a night life in downtown, it also is somewhat dangerous.

The city itself pretty much is a ghost town after 5 except after or during sporting events during the week. A lot of people like going to the suburbs.

Which I don't understand. Aside from Clayton, no suburb has any remote distinction of a downtown area aside from maybe Kirkwood or Webster Groves. Ladue is probably one of, if not the, most affluent areas in the state with restaurants spread out everywhere and Chesterfield ****ing sucks.

The entire St. Louis area would be better off if Metro extended westward into Chesterfield, but that's never going to happen.

We were quite surprised at how deserted the downtown was. Denver has lots of activity downtown at night, so we expected something similar, and St. Louis was a ghost town. That's not a good thing.

A lot of that has to do with the decline of the city's population as a whole and more people moving into the western suburbs.

Reason #1001 for why I would never move to St. Louis.

It's right after recent addition at reason #1000.....no NFL team.

You all give me a reality check. Grew up just south of Barry Rd., back when it was a 2 lane road...death trap. Military, life happened, now live out in the country 45 miles NW of St. Joe. The nearest house is 1/2 mile away.

Got 3 big dogs, 4 lawn lions (cats)...I don't know where my house keys are? Never locked my doors in 23 yrs. I figured if the dogs and lions don't scare them off, I sure don't want them to bust out my windows to grab a TV. Let them have it.

This is my slice of heaven
