Need Help-Wife wants to purhcase a "Rat" Dog

The wife is dead set on purchasing a "rat" dog. Personally, I feel toy dogs serve no purpose; specifically breed to sit on laps and ride along in purses and tote bags. Guys, I'm a big black man-this shit wont look right when I'm forced to walk "it."

I need to know what I can do to change her mind . Ive offered diamonds, trips, hell I even told her she has first dibs on the REMOTE for the remainder of the year!! Ive only owned American Bulldogs, Labs, German Shepherds and Pitts...there is no way in hell I going to end up all over the web as some meme when someone catches my big ass in public walking this dog!!

Thank you in advance!

Yeah, that's weird.

Our Yorkie attacked pretty much anything on 4 legs. Our chihuahua would hide so he didn't have to deal with her. She drew blood on a cat more than once. And my catahoula tried to swallow her whole after she blindly attacked him.

Brutha, I am your size, albeit white, and got one of these. This is your compromise. Great great dog. Otherwise,

Yeah! Jack Russels and Fox Terriers are great compromises for a guy who wants a manly dog and a women who wants a smaller type dog.

Here is a fox terrier like the one I used to have, and he was so awesome. So smart and fearless.

I don't really like big dogs other than Boxers and Rotts. I like terrier - Schnauzer sized dogs for the most part.

You wont go wrong with a Bichon. Exact same situation i had 11 years ago. Always had Labs and Shepherds. Wife says she wants a lap dog. I raised hell. Then one day she up and left early from work with her mom and drove a couple hours away and got one. Calls me and breaks the news on the way home with the dog. I was pissed. Had him 11 years. And i swear to god i have never laughed as much in my life as i have with that dog. He had more energy and personality than any 3 dogs put together.

I had to put him down last week. Got sick all of the sudden and the vet went to give him fluids and put a catheter on and his heart stopped. Vet revived him and called me. I told them to let him go. Broke my heart. Get a male and ask for the runt of the litter.
