What's wrong with the Bob Sutton scheme?
Set the talent level aside for a second. The scheme itself I contend is bunk. It appears to be a complete read & react defense. Sutton seems to "play not to lose" from a defensive aspect. Turnovers are what his scheme hinges on.

It just appears to be an indecisive scheme. Afraid to commit to attack the run or pass on any given play. It's like he's afraid to run blitz because it may not be a run. He's afraid to pass blitz because they may run the ball. His zone scheme does not seem to call for defenders manning up on offensive players in their zone.

I just can't get a read on what it is he is trying to do. It looks like he is trying to defend against everything all the time. It doesn't really come off that much different than the RAC 3-4.

Well, we controlled every single phase of the game - when your offense is unstoppable and you can literally control the ball and TOP to keep their (admittedly excellent) offense off the field, it helps...and Khunt was BEASTlike, and Ware too. An offense that can string first downs together + take time off the clock is EVERY defense's best friend...

But yeah, we shut them down and shit in their cheerios. Burfict got broke and then we beat Andy Dalton like the proverbial Bonaduche-looking redheaded stepchild that he is...

Now, we got, what the Broncos again, already?

I saw a lot of mixed coverages, overloads on the line, stunts. I saw a lot of schematic changes. It looked a lot more like an NFL defense. Also, better tackling, and DOD looked really good. MOAR OF THIS.

The bengals have an above average offense. Maybe.

They've been over 400 yards ONCE this season and have been under 350 in 4 of their 7 games including this pasting... which was their 2nd consecutive game under 300 yards total offense.

I'm just saying. EXCELLENT offenses are way more productive. You should know. You watch one every week.
